Cheap HD hard disk camcorders??

I am looking for a cheap (400$ or less….if that gets me anything) HD camcorder that has a hard disk memory system. If 400$ isn’t enough for anything at least half decent tell me. I will be using the camcorder mostly for skateboarding. I would prefer to be able to use a wide angle lens with it. Sony is a preferred brand but anything will work as long as it fits the criteria. Thanks in advance (:

action sports and hard disks are not a good combination. if you are talking POV cameras that will have to take a lot of shock and abuse, then its not possible. that is best done with memory card cameras.

the platter in HDD spins at 7200 rpm and the heads in miniDV spin at 9000 rpm, they will not survive hard shock. Hi8 at 1800 rpm is an option or use cameras with video transmitters that can be recorded on a static VCR at the base station.
