Recently i bought a Panasonic 3CCD DVD camera which has a USB port?
Recently i bought a Panasonic 3CCD camera, model no. VDR-D300 . It has aUSB port to transfer video, by using its own software. The software allows u to Copy video from 8cm DVD disc (colud be DVD-RW, DVD-RAM) to hard disk or edit it with the software and finaly make a DVD disc 12cm. I have Avid Express DV 4.6 software, which uses a firewire card to capture video. Now how can i capture from the DVD camera which has a USB port to my AVID software which uses firewire cable. The camera does not have a firewire port.
sorry to tell you but DVD camcorders are a bad invention. Since the video on a DVD is MPEG-2, and firewire works with DV, you are out of luck. Based upon other posts on Yahoo Answers, many people are having this same problem.
MPEG-2 is a delivery format for video, not an editing format. If I am given an MPEG-2 file, the first thing I do it convert it to an AVI.
If you can copy the VOB file from the DVD disc to your hard drive, use a program like VirtualDub to convert it to AVI (perhaps DIVX). But alas you are already losing a generation before editing even begins. Do yourself a favor – return the camcorder and get a mini-DV model.

Choosing Point and Shoot Cameras
Digital cameras have become very common and almost every person you know has one. As you may have noticed many different companies are now coming out with digital cameras to satisfy the market demand. Although there still remains camera companies that are staying ahead of everyone else in terms of technology and picture quality. It is important to know which products are going to be the best for your budget.
When buying a digital camera you will find that prices range from around $150 and can be over $1000 depending on the model and its features. Some digital SLR cameras can costs thousands. Most people will not need a Digital SLR camera but you can find other cameras with comparable features.
Recently a friend of mine bought a Canon SLR camera for over $800 and then a week later he bought a professional lens for almost $900. Sounds crazy as most people cant afford to spend this much money unless it is a hobby or they need it for their profession. Your budget will determine which range of cameras you will be considering.
More often than not people just want a camera that takes a high quality picture and is very easy to use. Sometimes this type of camera is called a point and shoot camera. It is called this because the setup and action of taking a picture is very simple and requires very little skill. Some companies that make cameras in this market include Panasonic, Nikon, Canon or Polaroid. This is the camera that is most suited for a person who wants good quality photos without paying a fortune.
Recently i came across a model that has been gathering a large buzz on the internet on forums and review sites due to its amazing picture quality. This model is the new Panasonic DMC ZS7. This camera is around the $300 mark and has over 100 glowing reviews on the amazon marketplace.
Now as we all know finding good reviews on the internet can be a difficult process but i have found that the best source of reliable honest reviews is from Amazon. I do all of my product research here before making a purchase. Amazon also seems to always have the lowest prices which is a bonus.
Here are some of the Features of the Panasonic DMC ZS7:
12.1 MP
12x digital zoom
25mm Ultra Wide Leica Lens
1 Touch High Quality Recording
Built in GPS
Connectivity to TV via HDMI cable.
